3D Modeling

Norse Tech uses Tekla for our 3D modelling software. Tekla is a known leader in detailing software. We started on the board, but have been using Tekla now for over 15 years. 3D modelling has transformed the way we detail and collaborate with other trades. The accuracy and visual representation has made detailing more controlled and versatile. 3D modelling lets us offer our clients many different approaches to facilitate their needs from project start to finish: from Advanced Bill of Materials, reports, weights and center of gravity and that's just to name a few.

Coordination Services

We provide coordination services for small or large projects to free up your valuable time. We have many years experience coordinating large projects, such as baseball stadiums and shopping centres. A lot of overseas drafting companies don't offer coordination services and that's where we come in. Our detailers have a proactive approach along with the knowledge and experience to answer questions, manage schedule and manpower, which in turn gets the job done as scheduled and with less errors.

Detailing

We offer customary steel detailing services:

Anchor bolts
Embeds
Fittings
Assembly drawings
Layouts
Electronic files (dxf, cnc, kiss, ifc and more)
Reports (fabtrol, ABM, drawing lists, part lists, custom)

Tekla has all the tools to facilitate the things required in the modern era, but the importance to the 2D assembly/fitting and layout drawing has not changed in regards to the knowledge it takes to ensure all information is presented. No program I know of yet has provided this. Norse Tech with its years of industry experience will ensure your final product not only offers incredible technology but also is fully aware of presentation and schedule.

ABOUT

Norse Tech was started in 2017 by Allan and Jayme Johnson, brothers who have been working in the structural steel industry for over 25 years. Back in 1992 Allan got his start with a small fabricator, but it wasn’t until about a year later when he was picked up by M&D Drafting that his career really took off. It was about 5 years later that Jayme joined Al at M&D as well. The brothers were fortunate to work with some of the top detailers around and have two very dedicated owners who demanded quality and excellence from their team. M&D was one of the most respected detailing companies around. The company grew quickly and so did it’s employees, working on some of the most challenging projects in Canada and the United States. Al and Jay were fortunate to learn and touch all aspects of detailing. Starting as a detailer they moved into a checking role then spent most of their career leading projects. Educating and working close with the Tekla development team were a few of Al's real passions. Jay enjoys the challenge of working on unique projects as well as coordinating large projects ensuring they run smoothly. The one challenge the boys were missing was running their own company. Al and Jayme have always given 110% to their work. Norse Tech will work as hard and with the same dedication they have for years now.
